Glenn Hughes has announced a brace of Irish dates where he'll bring the material of the Mk III and IV line ups of Deep Purple to Belfast and Dublin for the first time ever. Hughes is is set to delve deep into his past for the September shows, which are billed as 'Classic Deep Purple Live'.

The former bassist and singer of Deep Purple, known to millions as the ‘Voice of Rock’, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and the current front man for rock super group Black Country Communion will be playing exclusively material from Purple's 'Burn', 'Stormbringer' and 'Come Taste The Band' albums for the shows at Belfast's Waterfront Hall on Saturday 29th September 2018, and Dublin's Olympia Theatre of Sunday 30th September 2018. The dates come ahead of a full U.K. tour which follows in October.  The full list of U.K. dates can be viewed below.

The two date tour promises to be a dynamic, turn-back-the-clocks, two hour live extravaganza homage to his tenure with the classic rock behemoths, who are one of music history’s most seminal and influential rock and roll groups.  Tickets for Belfast are priced £30 and for tickets for Dublin are €35.

Tickets will be available for pre-sign ups in a 48-hour ticket pre-sale from Wednesday 14th March. Tickets will then go on general sale on Friday 16th March from SeeTickets.

For each show there will be one hundred VIP tickets available. The tickets will include pre-show Meet & Greet, photo ops and an exclusive private ‘unplugged’ song performance from Glenn Hughes. Fans will also be able to take with them a signed tour poster.

Says Glenn: "I'm excited to be touring the 'Classic Deep Purple Live' in Ireland this September. I first toured Classic Deep Purple Live in Australia and New Zealand last year and it went down like a storm. We’re also touring the show throughout South America in April, and festivals throughout the summer. By the time we tour Ireland in September, we’ll be on fire.”

It's good to see Glenn bringing his music to Ireland from his stint in Deep Purple (Mk III & IV) for what will be a memorable evening I'm sure for the fans there, it's just a little disappointing that he's not promoting his recent solo album as well as his work with Black Country Communion which are both outstanding or embarking on a large scale BCC Tour to cover the 4 excellent albums released with the lads: Joe Bonamassa, Jason Bonham, Derek Sherinian, which would be much more lucrative for all parties/principals concerned. Time's passing quickly for us all and Glenn and the boys are not getting any younger as we all are. No offense meant towards Glenn who looks and performs like a man half the age... 😎🎸🎹🎛️🎼👍

Good luck to Glenn and his bandmates whoever will be joining him, not mentioned in the article, hope he finally brings his current tour to us here in Texas (Houston) so we can see him too.

Best regards always!

Cheers,

Michael~J😎✝️🇺🇸
