Downtown Las Vegas is just a couple of months away from hosting its fifth Life is Beautiful Festival, an event that has helped to breathe new life into the downtown neighbourhood of Fremont Street. Alongside the likes of Lollapalooza, Life is Beautiful is fast becoming one of the most colourful festivals in the U.S. The event’s creators go to town on the 18 blocks of Sin City’s downtown suburb, creating a backdrop that inspires and excites in equal measure.

What’s Life is Beautiful Festival all about?
It was founded back in 2013 by Rehan Choudhry, who had previously worked as the entertainment director at The Cosmopolitan, one of the newest and trendiest hotel and casino resorts on the Las Vegas Boulevard Strip. Choudhry’s vision after leaving The Cosmopolitan was to create an event that would have a meaningful impact on the Las Vegas community, driving enthusiasm and belief in the heart of the downtown area that has been neglected in favour of the Strip for decades. Choudhry’s vision of fusing music, food, art and learning has worked brilliantly, creating a festival that is culturally aware and in touch with society.

The festival has not only been a platform for some of the world’s biggest names in pop, rock, rap and R&B but it has also been a canvas for world-renowned and local artists as well as public speakers and emerging comedians and comediennes. The line-up for this summer’s festival was announced a short time ago, with The Weeknd, Arcade Fire and Florence + the Machine confirmed as the headline acts for 2018. A host of other long-standing acts have also been revealed, including Travis Scott, Justice, Death Cab for Cutie and N.E.R.D., who are also performing at this year’s Electric Picnic Festival in Ireland. Since the event’s inauguration in 2013, there have been some incredible acts appearing on stage in Vegas, ranging from Kanye West and Foo Fighters to Stevie Wonder and Muse.

One Big Cultural Fiesta in Touching Distance of the Vegas Strip
For those unfamiliar with the festival, the event is situated within the heart of the Fremont East District. It spreads along 18 blocks, engulfing some of the most famous casinos in the world, such as the Golden Nugget and the Fremont Hotel & Casino. You can buy a host of event packages, with the ability to purchase two, three or four-day passes to the festival under general admission or as a VIP. Bundle ticket packages with hotel accommodations are available when you buy tickets through the Life is Beautiful Festival website. However, you might be able to get accommodations cheaper elsewhere on the Vegas Strip. To save money, try booking with hotels directly while the likes of Groupon and Priceline may have specific deals for the festival.

Alongside the live music, comedy and culinary shows, Cirque Du Soleil will be participating in the festival once again. Back in 2014, Cirque Du Soleil pulled out all the stops, alongside the Las Vegas Philharmonic, to create one of the most-talked-about performances in the festival’s six-year history. These guys know how to create energy onstage and there is no better group than Cirque Du Soleil to characterise the spirit and flair of Life is Beautiful.
