By popular demand, Colston Hall has announced a second date for Nile Rodgers & CHIC, following the sell-out of the 16th July show in less than 24 hours.

The iconic band will play an additional date on Wednesday 15th July at The Amphitheatre as part of the Colston Hall Presents programme.

Known for their high energy, classic hits and incredible live performances Nile Rodgers & CHIC are the ultimate soundtrack to a summer show on Bristol’s Harbour. Tickets will go on general sale on Tuesday 3 March at noon.

The one-off gigs come ahead of Belle and Sebastian on Friday 17th July. The three outdoor gigs form part of the Colston Hall Presents programme which sees Bristol’s foremost concert venue programming concerts across the city in the vast majority of its independent and unique venues, while the Hall undergoes its multi-million-pound transformation.

Now in its fifth year of programming at The Amphitheatre, Colston Hall has brought sell out performances by Goldie and the Heritage Orchestra in 2015, Outlook Orchestra in 2017, Jimmy Cliff and Grandmaster Flash in 2018 and 2019’s consecutive concerts from New Order and The Specials.

Colston Hall’s artistic director Todd Wills commented: “The response to Nile Rodgers & CHIC in Bristol has been incredible and after selling out in under 24 hours we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring them here for a second show.

“They are among the best live acts in the world right now and we couldn’t be more excited to spend two nights with them for some of the most memorable Harbourside shows Colston Hall has brought to the city to date.”

Coming onto the scene in the late 1970’s, Nile Rodgers & CHIC re-shaped the music scene with smash hits like ‘Dance, Dance, Dance’, ‘Good Times’ and ‘Le Freak’, which spent five weeks on top of the charts in 1978 and went on to become the best-selling single in the history of Atlantic Records. Nile Rodgers & CHIC’s revolutionary sound has influenced countless artists with Nile Rodgers going on to produce for David Bowie, Diana Ross and Madonna, amongst others.

In more recent times, Rodgers’ trendsetting collaborations with Daft Punk, Avicii, Sigala, Disclosure, and Sam Smith and the critical acclaim for 'It’s About Time', Nile Rodgers & CHIC’s first album in over 26 years, show that the ensemble continue to be at the forefront of contemporary music, and at the height of their powers.

Tickets go on general sale here at 12 noon on Tuesday 3 March, priced at £59.95 including booking fee, and are available from Colston Hall Box Office on 0117 203 4040.
