Megadeth Bring Mega-Metal Bill To Dublin.

Megadeth have kicked off the U.K. and Ireland leg of their ‘Dystopia’ tour in Dublin, bringing with them a mega-metal bill in a treat for fans of heavy music. The ‘Big 4’ pioneers were joined by Lamb Of God, Children Of Bodom and Sylosis for the show at the city’s 3Arena last night (9th Nov 2015).

Metal legends Megadeth have kicked off the U.K. and Ireland leg of their ‘Dystopia’ tour in Dublin, bringing with them a mega-metal bill in a treat for fans of heavy music. The ‘Big 4’ pioneers were joined by Virginian metalcore outfit Lamb Of God, symphonic thrashers Children Of Bodom and progressive metallers Sylosis for the show at the city’s 3Arena last night (9th Nov 2015).

As well as marking the debut appearance of the new Megadeth line-up in Europe, the gig also saw drummer Chris Adler putting in double duty for the first time. As a founder member of Lamb Of God, Adler joined Megadeth last year and is now working with both outfits.

Taking to the stage just after 9.30 pm Megadeth’s set heavily focused on the band’s back catalogue, with the four-piece ripping through the opening ‘Hanger 18’, ‘She-Wolf’ and ‘Wake Up Dead’ in quick succession. Going on to cover all corners of their career from the Cliff Burton lamenting ‘In My Darkest Hour’ to ‘Fatal Illusion’ from their forthcoming ‘Dystopia’ album, the band also threw in what band leader Dave Mustaine described as; “So predictable [but] we have to play this song here”, with a cover of Thin Lizzy’s ‘Cold Sweat’.
Having spent the previous few days in the city, the fiery singer praised Dublin’s hospitality from the stage, stating: “We got into town a couple of days ago, and we took in some of the locals.”

Earlier in the week the frontman had taken to Twitter to share what the band had been up to during their down time in the Irish capital. While bassist David Ellefson explored the historic Temple Bar, Mustaine took a tour of the world famous Guinness Brewery, proudly showing off his certificate for pouring the ‘perfect pint’.

Taking to Twitter again this afternoon to bid a fond farewell to Ireland, the singer tweeted:“Thank you, Dublin, for the best show the four of us have done yet. Love this life!!!”.

Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Children Of Bodom and Sylosis continue on ‘The Killing Road’ arriving in Glasgow tomorrow night (11th Nov 2015), with shows in Manchester and London following. The tour winds up in Birmingham on the 15th Nov 2015.
