Blues supremo Joe Bonamassa has announced a brace of Irish dates, in addition to what is being billed as "the guitar event of the year", in a trio of shows to take place in the U.K. later this month. The Irish dates will see the guitarist play Dublin's Vicar Street on 29 and 30 June 2016.
In what is being billed as: "Joe Bonamassa In Concert - A Salute To The British Blues Explosion", the Dublin shows will see the soloist pay homage the original British blues originators of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, in what will be a treat for fans of guitar music.
Irish fans may have been waiting patiently for Bonamassa's return to Ireland, however it seems that the feeling is mutual. Says the bluesman; “I have always loved playing in Ireland and Vicar Street especially is very dear to me. I look forward to debuting my new show in front of my warm and knowledgable Irish fans".
Commenting on the unique nature of the forthcoming shows and his love of early British blues, Bonamassa adds: "if it wasn't for certain British musicians of the early 1960s, the Blues may well never have exploded into Rock music as we know it today, and indeed may have passed into history”.
Meanwhile, in what is being billed as 'the guitar event of the year', the player has announced a trio of shows to take place in the U.K. in just a few weeks' time. In addition to a rescheduled date taking place at Bournemouth's BIC on Sunday 20 March, Bonamassa will also perform two new dates at Birmingham Barclaycard Arena on Saturday 19th March, and the Plymouth Pavilions on Monday 21st March 2016.
Tickets for the Dublin show are on sale now, from www.ticketmaster.ie and usual outlets.
