J Pop Metal Sensations Babymetal Added To Download 2016 Bill.

J Pop Metal sensations Babymetal have been added to the bill for this year's Download festival. Taking place between 10 - 12 June, the act which has become a phenomenon will join previously announced headliners Rammstein, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden at the Midlands' metal event.

​J Pop Metal sensations Babymetal have been added to the bill for this year's Download festival. Taking place between 10 - 12 June, the act which has become a phenomenon will join previously announced headliners Rammstein, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden at the Midlands' metal event. 

Making their debut at Download, the metal wonders who are currently taking the world by storm will be following up their recent sold out appearance at Wembley Arena. Babymetal will be making their appearance  on the festival's main stage, at the metal Mecca of Donington Park. 

With their exhilarating and irresistible live shows that merge thunderous modern metal with infectious J-pop, as one of the most talked about  acts of the last few years, Babymetal are quickly gaining global critical acclaim with their mission statement: to bring metal to the world.

Last year the Download crowd received a taster of what’s to come this June when Babymetal joined Dragonforce on stage for a surprise high-energy performance of their hit 'Gimme Chocolate'. This summer’s main stage performance marks the first time the band has played the festival under their own steam. The band will take to the stage on the festival's opening day, Friday 10 June.

Speaking about the addition, the band have released the following statement: Say Babymetal: “We’re so excited to come back to the UK next month! We will play the main stage at Download Festival. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.”

The announcement follows the latest round of acts to have been announced for the happening, which includes reformed dynamos Juliette and the Licks, Brit metal heroes Raging Speedhorn, and rising stars The Amorettes. Other acts confirmed to appear over the weekend include nu metal linchpins Deftones,and Korn, big four legends Megadeth, symphonic Fins Nightwish and art rock heroes Jane's Addiction, with over one hundred are expected to make the final tally. Download Festival is the home of rock and metal and takes place on the sacred grounds of Donington Park, which have been associated with rock since the 80s. The festival attracts icons of to its main stage, plus some of the best and hottest new acts in the world. AC/DC, KISS, Metallica, Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses, Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot, Linkin Park and many more have all headlined its main stage.
