2022's mega-Hellfest, which is taking place over a brace of weekends in the summer, has promised a "unique date in European festival" to replace Faith No More as the event's final headliner. The news comes as the French festival, which takes place in Clisson from 17th - 26th June, announces further acts and a few changes to the bill.

Several bands have become unavailable for the 2022 edition, which organisers citing the international health situation for the changes.

As a result, the following artists have departed from the line-up: The Wildhearts, Powerflo, Obituary, 3Teeth, Belzebubs, Numenorean, Of Mice & Men, Justin(e), Legion of the Damned, Hatebreed and Crowbar.

In addition to the cancellation of Faith No More,  another headliner, Avenged Sevenfold have also had to forfeit their appearance.

French heroes
GOJIRA will now close Mainstage 1 on the first weekend, for their only European festival date. Organisers say; "What a pride to be able to place at the top of the biggest stage of the festival, a French band! Joe, Mario, Christian & Jean-Michel, see you on Sunday June 19th".
