Operation: Mindcrime, the band lead by former Queensrÿche Singer Geoff Tate, have unveiled the first single from forthcoming album 'Resurrection'. Titled 'Left For Dead', the track, which can be streamed below, is taken from the second part of Tate's planned trilogy of albums. Set for release on 23rd September through Frontiers Music, ‘Resurrection' follows on from Operation: Mindcrime's debut album 'The Key', which was released last year.
Operation: Mindcrime the band, continues in the spirit of the historic Queensrÿche album, spawning concepts as grand as the music, and intertwining the intensity of Tate's iconic past with the provocative, progressive mindset that has made him one of music's most resolute forces and front men.
Explaining the concept behind the release, Tate reveals: “The album ‘Resurrection' is the second part of our three album presentation. It continues the story that began on 'The Key' with the near death experience of the lead character known as ‘H' and his subsequent recovery of the missing encryption key. With the Key finally in his possession, ‘H' has everything he needs to finally launch his long awaited project called ‘The New Reality'. Or does he…”
He continues: “I’m excited for people to hear and experience ‘Resurrection' because I think it answers some of the questions that were posed in the first album. Musically, it also offers some of the most diverse and challenging material that I’ve ever written.”
Geoff Tate established Operation: Mindcrime in 2014 following his well-publicised split from his former partners in Queensrÿche. Speaking to eonmusic in 2015, via Myglogalmind, Tate revealed that getting Operation: Mindcrime together had been a fresh start for the singer. Said Geoff: "I’ve always been focused on the music, and it’s easier to focus now, without the drama as you say, in place. So yeah, I’m excited and energetic and feeling very good".
