Music legend Neil Young joined forces with Promise of the Real last year, to create one of his most vitriolic albums with the ecologically / environmentally-focused ‘The Monsanto Years’. Now the line-up is set to make their U.K. and Ireland debut this summer as part of their Rebel Content Tour. The tour has also been boosted with the news that Laura Marling will perform as special guest on all of the dates.
Neil Young + Promise of the Real’s North American dates have seen the band dust off some of the rarely heard classics from Neil’s huge back catalogue, together with fiery takes on material from ‘The Monsanto Years’ as well as select solo performances and other old favourites. The LA Times concluded that the show “put forth nearly three hours of blazing musical and sociopolitical fire.”
Promise of the Real are an Los Angeles based rock band fronted by vocalist and guitarist Lukas Nelson, along with guitarist Micah Nelson, drummer Anthony Logerfo, bassist Corey McCormick, and percussionist Tato Melgar (percussion). The five-piece have previously performed with Lukas' and Micha's father; county music Hall of Famer Willie Nelson.
