Destruction will join forces with US-based thrash metal monsters Flotsam & Jetsam, Swedish metal maniacs Enforcer and Brazil's Nervosa for what will be the heaviest tour of 2016. The band have also revealed details of their forthcoming release 'Under Attack'.
Thrash metal icons Destruction have today announced plans to join forces with US-based thrash metal monsters Flotsam & Jetsam, Swedish metal maniacs Enforcer and Brazil's Nervosa for what will be the heaviest tour of 2016. The jaunt comes in support of forthcoming release 'Under Attack'.
Due for release on 13th May 2016 via Nuclear Blast Records, 'Under Attack' is the follow-up to 2012's well-received 'Spiritual Genocide'. The icons have released a teaser video for the release which can be viewed below. Meanwhile, the video for the title track is due to follow next week, in the wake of the band trailing as short preview clip, which can be viewed here.
Speaking about the forthcoming European tour, which hits Dublin's Voodoo Lounge on 5th October and London's Underworld on 7th October, Destruction mastermind Schmier states:"I`m totally thrilled that we got this amazing package together. When you go on tour you wanna give the fans the best they deserve: Nervosa- for me the best extreme female Metal band by far, Enforcer are my fave Metal - outfit with this pure 80s' touch and Flotsam And Jetsam are back stronger than ever, we are old mates, finally we will tour together again!
The singer / bassist adds: "I can`t wait to see Thrashers and Metal heads united this autumn, to party, mosh & bang with us - oh yes, sometimes it`s really great to be a Metal fan and play in a band - f**k yeah! See you all soon at the best party around!"
In a statement, Flotsam And Jetsam say; “This tour is going to be an absolute thrash fest! Flotsam And Jetsam is honoured to support the legendary Destruction, one of the strongest thrash bands to ever come out of Europe. We can’t think of anything better for this fall than getting back to our friends and fans in Europe for a month, hitting the stage and the streets with Schmier, Mike, and Vaaver, the Enforcer crew, and Fernanda and the women of Nervosa, night after night. If that doesn’t sound like trouble, we don’t know what does!”

The band kicked off their recording sessions for the new album after the summer festivals last year and recorded segments in various studios between September 2015 and January 2016. The poignant cover artwork was created by acclaimed artist Gyula from Hungary, who has also created artwork for ANNIHLATOR, GRAVE DIGGER, STRATOVARIUS, TANKARD and many more.
