One of the most in-demand songwriters of her generation, Fiona Bevan, has announced the release of her new single Revelations on Friday 22nd October. Three years since her last release in her own name, Fiona is stepping back up to the microphone with this haunting new track from her forthcoming self-produced EP.

Revelations, is the debut single from the singer songwriter’s forthcoming EP release in the spring. The song reflects Fiona’s thoughts on how to survive a breakup: “I wrote Revelations after one of those moments that wake you up in the middle of the night and make you change something drastic in your life… It’s a breakup song about managing to shatter the spell of a toxic relationship and leave. It’s full of the driving energy of that moment of realisation, with a really strong guitar riff, inspired by Dolly Parton’s Jolene, an urgent rising vocal melody, a chorus like an incantation, inviting in change, and four-to-the-floor toms with the feeling of Maps by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. There’s a magical time signature/tempo change, kind of inspired by Some Velvet Morning, with the song emerging into a psychedelic mid-section, full of meditation temple bells, a storm of swirling violins and a transition into calm and resolution. I wanted this song to be a whole movie in one…visual, cinematic, dramatic.”

The past few years have seen Fiona focusing on writing and co-writing duties as well as championing music industry causes. Currently Fiona is a judge & mentor for the Ivor Novello Awards and she also sits on both The Ivors Academy and PRS boards. During the recent DCMS Investigation into music streaming Fiona gave evidence at the hearing and has since had numerous interviews across the media landscape.

Fiona was recently asked by Bjorn Ulvaeus of ABBA to join him as an ambassador for his new initiative Credits Due which is a pledge by publishers to ensure that complete and accurate song metadata is attached to all recordings at the point of creation. Fiona is also currently writing with Nile Rodgers, Rationale, Troy Miller, Mr Hudson and working with new artists including Zak Abel, Ewan Mainwood, Tom King and Tamzene amongst others.

Her previous release, Wild Angels Sweet Demons, was produced by Grammy award-winning engineer Robin Baynton (Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling, Isaac Gracie) and released independently, heading straight to number 2 in France, and number 7 in both the UK and Canada iTunes singer-songwriter charts.

Fiona has toured with Ed Sheeran, Nick Mulvey, Adam Ant, Ruston Kelly, and The Wandering Hearts, after they met onstage playing at The Bluebird in Nashville. She is very much looking forward to touring the tracks from the new EP in 2022.
