Rising UK rockers Inglorious arrived in Dublin on Wednesday (4th October 2017), for a night of soulful hard rock. Fronted by the inimitable Nathan James, the six-piece wooed the intimate audience with an energetic performance that proved just why the band are on the up and up.

Celebrating the success of their recent, aptly-titled second album ‘Inglorious II’, James and company ripped through tracks from their brace of releases, with the mood ranging from hard rocking to delicately soulful, before going on to pay tribute some of music’s most recent losses, with a pair of beautiful acoustic cover versions.

Taking to the stage at the city’s Academy Green Room, a driving ‘Don’t Waste My Time’ set the scene for what was to follow. Following with the highly-charged ‘Breakaway’, Nathan and his tight-knit band showed exactly why they earned comparisons with the classic rock of early Whitesnake, Free and Bad Company.

Greeting the crowd, James commented on the cosy atmosphere in the room. “Good evening Dublin”, said the singer; “A small, but mighty Dublin crowd this evening. I feel like I know all of you”, he joked.

Going on to express his gratitude for those who bought ‘Inglorious II’, which was released earlier this year, Nathan continued; “To anyone who bought our album, thank you very much”.

Playing a healthy smattering of tracks from the release, which charted at No. 1 on the UK rock chart in May, including “sexy song” ‘Making Me Pay’, and Planet Rock-endorsed single ‘Taking The Blame’, James’ incredible vocals shone, proving just why he has been compared to some of the greatest singers in hard rock.

Giving the band a chance to take a short break, with guitarist Drew Lowe picking up an acoustic, a sombre James lamented the recent loss of Tom Petty, before the pair paid an emotive tribute to Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell, with a beautiful run through stirring versions of Linkin Park’s ‘Numb’ and Soundgarden’s ‘Black Hole Sun’.

Bringing the mood back up, and the evening full circle, a rousing finale of ‘Holy Water’ ended the night on a high, with a special dedication to Jamie and Rachel; a couple in the crowd who had famously gotten engaged during Inglorious’ set at Hellfest in France back in June.

Inglorious’ tour continues in the UK on Friday 6th October, when the band arrive at Tivoli in Buckley. A full list of dates can be viewed below.
