Alt. rock three-piece D.A.R.K featuring Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan and former Smiths' bassist Andy O'Rourke have announced a brace of Irish dates in support of debut album 'Science Agrees'. The trio, completed by vocalist Olé Koretsky, will take to the stage at the intimate confines of Dolan's in Limerick on 13th May, as well as playing at Whelan's in Dublin 16th May.

The dates come as part of a short European run that also takes in dates in The U.K., France, Germany, Italy and Spain. The full list of D.A.R.K. shows can be viewed below.

D.A.R.K.'s roots lie in a New York DJ-mixing collaboration formed between O'Rourke and Koretsky. After a couple of years’ experimentation and laying down tracks in their home studios, a chance meeting between Andy and Dolores resulted in the singer joining the project. They began sharing tracks and ideas via email, building on Andy and Olé’s original demos and, in some instances,  completely re-imagining some of the songs. The results of which led to 'Science Agrees'.

D.A.R.K. has been described as an "unlikely collaboration" for Limerick born vocalist O'Riordan. Dolores, who will be returning to the stage in her home town for the Limerick date, is most famously known as the singer of The Cranberries. Having sold over 40 million albums, the front woman has also worked with the likes of Angelo Badalamenti and Jah Wobble.

Andy Rourke meanwhile is best known as the inimitable bass player in one of the most important British bands ever, The Smiths. He has also worked with Pretenders, Ian Brown, Sinead O’Connor and Badly Drawn Boy.

Completing the line-up Olé Koretsky is the most anonymous member of the combo, as a little known songwriter, producer and DJ based in New York.

'Science Agrees' is due for release on 27th May 2016 and can be pre-ordered via pledgemusic, Itunes, and Amazon. The album's first single 'Curvy' can be viewed below.
