Earlier this year, JD & The Straight Shot released their critically acclaimed 'Good Luck And Good Night' album. Featuring a sound steeped in bluegrass, blues and gospel, it's the essence of pure undiluted Americana, and we've got three copies to give away.
Lead by the titular Jim Dolan, and featuring guitarist Marc Copely (B.B. King, Rosanne Cash), bassist Byron House (Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton), violinist/fiddler Erin Slaver (Martina McBride, Rod Stewart) and drummer/percussionist Shawn Pelton (Sheryl Crow, Levon Helm, Saturday Night Live band), the set was released on 15th September 2017.
Conceived as an all-acoustic record, 'Good Night And Good Luck' was produced and mixed by Copely and engineered by Chuck Ainley (Mark Knopfler, George Strait, Lee Ann Womack) at the famous Soundstage Studios in Nashville.
Says Jim about the release; “We pushed ourselves harder than ever before on this album and are so proud of the new music.” Influenced by artists like The Beach Boys, Pink Floyd and The Beatles along with traditional Irish folk music and classical music, 'Good Night And Good Luck' delivers a huge sound steeped in the quiet fire of American roots music and the swagger of rock n’ roll.
Scorching lead single, ‘Run For Me’ can be viewed below, but we've got three copies of the album on CD to give away.
