Chic featuring Nile Rodgers have been added to the line-up for this year's 'Live At The Marquee' events. Taking place in Cork, Ireland, the happening will see the disco funk legends play on Tuesday 21 June.

Chic featuring Nile Rodgers have been added to the line-up for this year's 'Live At The Marquee' series of events. Taking place in Cork, Ireland, the annual happening will see the disco funk legends play on Tuesday 21 June. The band will be making their return to Cork as part of their 'I'll Be There' 2016 tour.

Known for their upbeat anthems such as 'Le Freak' and 'Good Times', Chic have been billed as the greatest live dance music band of all time. Led by guitarist and producer Nile Rodgers, the New York outfit will be bring all the hits and more, including tracks from their 2015 release 'I'll Be There' - their first new album in twenty-five years - to the Cork show. 

As a Grammy-winning composer, producer, arranger, and guitarist, Rodgers has worked with the likes of Madonna, David Bowie and Daft Punk, resulting in a catalogue of hits that spans four decades of chart history. With a show that packs in many of these, Chic's set is sure to delight fans from any era. 

With worldwide sales of over 200 million albums and 50 million singles, Rodgers has also worked with the likes of Duran Duran, INXS, Mick Jagger, Grace Jones, Peter Gabriel, and Michael Jackson. Recent collaborations meanwhile have included Avicii, Disclosure, and Sam Smith reflecting Rodgers' respected place among the vanguard of contemporary music.

Taking place during the summer months since 2005, Live At The Marquee, Cork has become one of Ireland's most popular festival attractions. Other acts appearing in 2016 include soul superstars Simply Red (11 June), heavy metal giants Slayer and Anthrax (15 June), and pop music sensations Little Mix (3, 4 July). Tickets for all shows are available now. 
 
Tickets for Chic featuring Nile Rodgers go on sale on Wednesday 23 March at 9am fromticketmaster.ie and nationwide ticketmaster outlets. ​
