Doom metal dramatists Ghost have been confirmed as the final headliners for this year's Bloodstock Open Air festival. The Swedish act join Amon Amarth And Megadeth in closing the three day event, which is taking place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from 10 - 13 August.

The addition of the the theatrical outfit is sure to delight fans of the band, whose amazing stage show after dark is sure to be quite the religious experience. Speaking about their addition to the bill, a Nameless Ghoul says; “We are absolutely chuffed to finally be playing at the classic Bloodstock.  Over the years we have heard so many great things about it and now, to be able to headline one of the nights, is a great honour and we are very much looking forward to it.  Thank you all and see you there!"

Ghost, who are hot off the back of their Popestar UK tour, channel the early sounds of Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Judas Priest and Mercyful Fate, as well as elements of prog and late '60s psych rock, so couldn’t be more at home on Catton Park’s hallowed turf.  Papa Emeritus - now in his third incarnation - and the Ghouls current album, ‘Meliora’ spawned the Grammy Award-winning track, ‘Cirice’, the video for which has clocked up almost 16 million views on YouTube. ‘Meliora’ was followed in September 2016 by their critically lauded ‘Popestar’ EP, featuring the hugely sticky ‘Square Hammer’.

Ghost join the latest additions to the 2017 line-up which includes the likes of Blind Guardian, Hatebreed, Testament, Obituary, Brujeria,  Skindred, Possessed, Annihilator, Municipal Waste, Hell and Decapitated who are all set to appear over the weekend. The full line-up so far can be viewed on the poster below.

Bloodstock will take place at Catton Park, Derbyshire on 10th-13th August 2017.  Early bird weekend tickets with camping are available now, priced from £120 (+ booking fee) .  Children’s weekend tickets are also available, priced £35 (+ booking fee), with and under 4’s going free. Camper van pitches have now sold out.
