Southern Rockers Black Stone Cherry have announced details of their forthcoming new album 'Kentucky'. Their fifth studio effort, it's due for release through new label the Mascot Label Group, on April 1st 2016. The full track listing for the album, which includes latest single 'The Rambler' can be viewed below.

Named after the band's home state, the new album is being touted as a 'back to their roots' affair, with the four-piece working alongside the same engineer in the same 'local' studio, Barrick Recording, where they crafted their eponymous debut eight years ago.

Speaking about the upcoming release, vocalist / guitarist Christ Robertson said; “We are beyond excited to bring ‘Kentucky’ to you. Since the release of our debut we have wanted to go back to the studio where it all began and it finally happened!”

Commenting on the recording process, Robertson went on; “the original studio owner/engineer, all of the great equipment and Black Stone Cherry have been reunited for what I feel has been the most unique album we've ever made.

He added; “we took it back to where it started and something magical happened. These new songs are the heart and soul of who we were in 2006, and who we've become”.

Guitarist Ben Wells meanwhile has said; "this album is by far the heaviest, most aggressive album we've ever made. We went in focused, but not overly prepared. We wanted to leave room for creativity to grow in the studio and man did it happen!

He added; "this is the first album we've been able to fully self-produce and the result is an album jam-packed with 'in your face' riffs, huge drums, and bass that will shake your teeth."

‘Kentucky’ is available now for pre-order via itunes, where new album tracks ‘The Way of The Future’, 'In Our Dreams' and 'The Rambler' can be downloaded right away.

Those who prefer a physical format meanwhile, can head here, where CD and limited edition vinyl packages are available for pre-order.

Black Stone Cherry are due to return to the U.K. this summer to headline Sunday night at Ramblin' Man Fair. Taking place from 23-24 July at Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent, the latest addition to the festival calendar also features Whitesnake, Europe, Thin Lizzy and more. For more information, visit www.ramblinmanfair.com.
