Battle for the Lake is back for its 10th edition, and this year’s festival promises to be BIGGER and BETTER than ever! Set on the stunning Achill Island, Keel Lake will provide the most idyllic backdrop for a weekend of surfing, music, and craic. Battle for the Lake has come a long way from its humble beginnings of 30 attendees as this year expects to see crowds of 5,000+!

Nestled on the Wild Atlantic Way, why not combine your weekend with some of the most breathtaking scenery which Ireland has to offer. Head to Mayo’s wildest festival where family and friends gather to see some of the most spectacular aerial displays as the riders fly through the air and of course catch some of the best Irish bands in the last festival of the summer.

Superstar Irish singer-songwriter Mundy returns to Battle for the Lake. The singer of classic hits, ‘Gin & Tonic Sky’ and ‘Life’s a Cinch’ rocketed to international stardom after his song ‘To You I Bestow’ appeared on the soundtrack to Baz Lurhmann’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo & Juliet’. This bestselling soundtrack went on to sell 11 million copies and introduced Mundy to the world. Mundy stole the show at the very first Battle for the Lake and now festival-goers are anxiously awaiting his triumphant return to celebrate Battle for the Lake’s 10th Edition.

Renowned Irish DJ Daithi returns to the island once more. Daithi has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the Irish music industry with his song, ‘Take The Wheel’ featuring Bell X1’s frontman Paul Noonan. Daithi has been hailed for his trad infused upbeat electronic songs with Hot Press describing his unique style as “ethereal, lingering soundscapes that have made him one of the most instantly recognisable electronic producers in the country”. Daithi’s music is heavily inspired by his Irish roots, often entwining his fiddle playing skills with melodic electronic beats.
Battle for the Lake will welcome a number of fantastic musical acts across the weekend! Attention Bebe once again returns to the festival, this 12 piece brass and string band will be sure to make crowds dance their socks with off.  Their mishmash of outfits and eccentric stage presence has crowned them the “ultimate party band” – TMFTML

Stolen City a three-piece band from Dublin will be a definite crowd pleaser, their acoustic rock style will have the festival-goes dancing all night long! Junior Brother, a guitar and tambourine playing folk artist will bring the element of craic agus ceol to Battle for the Lake with his fun country vibes. Across the weekend, Battle for the Lake will also see some of the hottest up-and-coming artists within the Irish music scene, Beef Supreme (an alternative roots rock band) TBL8 (an eclectically-inspired urban brass ensemble) Lypton Village, Tommy McGovern, Graham Sweeny, Swiftie and Faraway Martin (with even more to be announced) are sure to delight crowds of all ages.

PureMagic is well known for bringing in top class international surfers to Ireland for Battle for the Bay every May and now Battle for the Lake will welcome world Redbull KING OF THE AIR and Dutch Free Style Champion, Kevin Langeree. This high-flying Dutchman is well known in the surfing community as a wild daredevil while on the board, and the crowd in Achill Island are sure to be in for a spectacular treat. Langeree will be the Battle’s special guest, with demos on the lake and a DJ session.

Great music and hysterical comedy will be on display all weekend from some of Ireland’s best loved acts. As a special treat, the day time schedule (until 5pm) is completely free with an area dedicated to families with a line-up of activities and performances including a bouncy castle, fun fair rides, games, music, kite workshop and a fantastic kiddie disco. On both Saturday and Sunday, our surprise guest DJ will have everyone up grooving on the banks of the lake.

As night falls, be ready for some spectacular performances. We call the night show "THE BURNING LAKE": Fire Performers, Fire Works above the water and some Amazing tunes... Windy or Rainy, the BATTLE for the Lake is sheltered and you will be comfy under our tents!  If all the dancing, laughing gets too much for you, relax and unwind in our food village, with a fantastic view of the lake. You can be guaranteed plenty of other thrilling and exciting events over the weekend!
