What Sets Spotify Apart from Other Audio Streaming Platforms

Spotify is an audio streaming company founded by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon in 2006. Having started life in Stockholm, Sweden, the small start-up rose to enormous success. In 2009, Spotify became available to people in the United Kingdom as well as Spain and France. In 2011 the company expanded to the United States market, eventually establishing its headquarters in New York City.
User Experience and User Interface
The user experience design (UX) and user interface design (UI) always play a huge role in the success of any website or app of a business. We’ve seen this in social media apps like TikTok, online casinos like ones that offer Platincasino slots online, e-commerce shops like Amazon, and more. The same can be said for Spotify, as both UX & UI played a huge role in their success. In terms of the UI, people who have been using the Spotify mobile and desktop apps for many years like it because it seems as though it has remained the same. However, there have been several redesigns over the years, but they’ve been done gradually. Apart from this, the Spotify apps are nice to look at on-screen, while they’re also extremely easy to use, offering users a wonderful experience.

Personalised Playlists
In terms of playlist options, Spotify is ahead of the game in the music streaming industry. They nearly always get it right and there are several playlists available on the app and desktop site. If you want to listen to the songs, you play most often, the On Repeat playlist is the best place to begin. This is where you will find all the music you have played most over the past 30 days. However, if you are new to Spotify you may want to try the Discover Weekly playlist that brings together new artists and songs. Your Time Capsule playlist considers your age and takes you back in time while the Pet Playlist has been devised for your pet, so there is something for everyone.

Spotify Codes & Spotify Collaborative Playlist Features
A Spotify code is a readable code, like a QR code but it is in the form of an image. The code cannot be read by human beings, but the Spotify app can read the code using your phone. Having scanned the code into your mobile device, the Spotify app takes you to the item embedded in the code. You can create Spotify codes for individual songs, playlists, artists, and podcasts.

The Spotify collaborative feature allows you to share the songs, artists, and podcasts you like with other people. Anyone who follows you can access the playlist, or you can set it to private and only give your friends access. Anyone with access to the playlist can make additions.

Compatibility & Integration with Third Party Apps
One of the many reasons why Spotify has become so popular is because it is compatible with several devices. Most people choose to listen to Spotify on a mobile phone, tablet, or desktop computer, but Spotify can be used on other devices too. For example, Spotify is also compatible with gaming consoles, and you can access their service on Xbox and PlayStation. There are even smart televisions that are compatible with the Spotify app. In addition, the Spotify Connect feature allows you to listen to music and podcasts using speakers and other devices where the app is currently not available.

In addition to this, Spotify is also integrated into several mobile applications. We’ve seen this on apps like Instagram, and Facebook, where we can add Spotify music to our stories on the two. We’ve also seen this on Shazam too, for example. Spotify doesn’t have the longest list of third-party applications they have integrated their services into, however, from the list, most of them are big brands with huge audiences. This in turn shows what a prominent brand Spotify is, and how they only work with the best in the business.

Conclusion

With a huge choice of music and podcasts, a superb user interface, personalised playlists, an array of features, and excellent compatibility with other devices, it is easy to see why so many people use Spotify. There are over 150 million Spotify subscribers, and that number alone tells you everything you need to know about the quality of the service.
