Scott: We are doing very well thanks! We’re currently in Leeds in the studio recording our next singles.
You have a new single out ‘Like Ghosts’ – what is the song about? Is it something from your own personal experience?
Kav: It’s simply about getting out of a controlling relationship that you didn’t want to be in and thinking “thank fuck it’s over!”
Where did you get the name for the band ‘Little Fireworks’ and what does it refer to?
Kav: I just said to Scott one day “what do you think of Little Fireworks as a name?”
Scott: It took me two seconds to think about it, I looked at you and said “ Yep that’s the one”. It just made perfect sense.
Were you pleased with the reaction and feedback to your recent EP launch for ‘Where Did The Light Go?’
Scott: Yeah really pleased. It was an awesome night. Sold out and everything! Definitely one to remember.
Tell us about all the tracks on the EP
Brother - our shortest, sharpest and fastest to date. Our little pop pop banger.
Vicious Tongue - We were stuck in an apartment in Brooklyn. It was pouring with rain outside. Vicious Tongue was born.
Like Ghosts - The lead single from the EP. It represents Little Fireworks down to a tee. Soft, low-fi verses paired with big, anthemic choruses.
My Best - Old but gold. Stood the test of time. Good fun to play live too.
How important is it for you to be based in London? Does the general music culture & vibe there inspire you?
Kav: Yeah there’s loads going on all the time. Almost too much sometimes! Hard to keep up with it. But yeah it’s so important for us to be here in London, always part of a music movement. It’s where we’re from so it’s home.
What’s your favourite song to sing?
Scott: In the shower? Definitely Toxic by Britney Spears. Kav: At karaoke? Lose yourself by Eminem. 100%.
What would be your dream celebrity dinner guest list be (alive or dead) and what ideal gig (again artists could be alive or dead) would you all go to afterwards?!
Scott: What a question! It’s got to be Arnold Schwarchzenegger and we’re going out to watch Prince after.
Kav: That would be a sick night to be fair.
Do you have any dream musical collaborations (living artists!) in mind for the future?
Kav: Simon Neil from Biffy. Straight up. Scott: Amen, brother.
Will you be touring in 2024/25 – and where would your ideal tour dates be?
Scott: Yep we’re planning a big tour next year all around the UK. We’re hoping for Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, etc. All the big cities.
Thanks for taking the time to chat to us! Hope to see you soon!
