Blackjack Through the Ages.

Strange to think that there is still debate about the origins of Blackjack but the consensus is that the game probably originated in the French casinos in the 1700’s although there are some thoughts that the game was an invention of the Romans, although it’s thought that the Romans played the game with wooden blocks that had different number painted on them.
The French theory included cards called ‘Vingt-et-Un’ (Twenty One) which very likely were derived from card games Chemin de Fer which was enjoyed at the French Royal Court.

Like many, good gamlbing games, various versions of Vingt-et-Un travelled with the games making it to America in the 18th century where it spread and evolved. In 1820 the game was played in 1820 in the legalized gambling halls although the rules of the game were very different from the contemporary Blackjack we know now (in the earlier forms of the game only the dealer was allowed to double).

Fast Forward to the 20th Century
The game of Blackjack was still called 21 in the state of Nevada but it was in this period that the game had its name changed to Blackjack by the bambling halls and casinos as a way of promoting the game. Bonus payouts were gained by players if a black jack was dealt along with an ace of spades and as the game increased in popularity the bonus payouts became less common but the name stuck.

Online Blackjack 2021
The advancement of technology has led to many players enjoying a game of Blackjack online rather than travelling out to a bricks and mortar casino and with many of us remaining indoors being able to enjoy a few games in the comfort and safety of your own home can really be just the remedy for stress or frustration.

The rules of online Blackjack are pretty simple as all you need to do is beat the dealer (and any other players at the virtual table) by adding up the value of your cards dealt to the total is as near to 21 as possible. If your hand beats the dealer then you win - if you go over 21 then you bust - if the dealer has a better hand you also lose.

If you want to experience online Blackjack at its very best (including live games) then click here to Fruity KIng which is home to all the most popular variations of the game including those great live games which are about as close as you can get to being in a bricks and mortar casino.
