FNM have been being “kind of stupid in a different way” for over three decades; from the commercial highs of ‘The Real Thing’ to the avant-garde genius of ‘Angel Dust’ and the dark, end of days ‘Album Of The Year’, they’ve done things their way. About to delve back to their inception with the upcoming re-release of 1985 debut ‘We Care A Lot’. We caught up with the founding bassist in the bar at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in London, to discuss their remarkable career, and find out what the future might bring.

Joining us for the second time this year, the Thin Lizzy guitarist is finally settling into life creating in a newer medium; "I'm kind of getting used to it now", he tells us as we sit down for a chat over Zoom; "my confidence is up and running". Discussing 50 years of Thin Lizzy, who his favourite guitar partners were, who he'd like in a 2025 Lizzy, and the final days of Phil Lynott, we caught up with the Glendale Gunslinger. Skillet main man John Cooper talks about new album 'Revolution', his busy 2024 which has seen the band tour Australia, Japan and other far flung places, and his positivity. "It is very empowering, but empowering in a positive way", he tells us as we sit down for a chat at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, California. Now in Pantera, guitar hero Zakk Wylde discusses being Ozzy Osbourne’s right-hand man for more than three decades, his time with Pride & Glory, solo construction, and more. Recorded backstage at Download Festival in June 2022. Ann Wilson of Heart has had a career spanning almost five decades. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee with 35 million album sales, the Seattle-based musician has little left to prove. All of which makes “Fierce Bliss”, her latest solo release all the more remarkable. “It’s only challenging because people need to be convinced that they can enjoy my stuff without the Heart name on it”, she admits as we sit down for a chat. Talking the new album, the excess of the ‘80s, and Heart’s plans to celebrate five decades in music, we joined Ann via Zoom. As the founder of Iron Maiden, one of the biggest and most celebrated heavy metal bands of all time, it’s fair to say that Steve Harris has little left to prove. The West Ham United fanatic however, isn’t one to rest on his laurels, and launching British Lion in 2012, the bassist returned to his pre-premier league roots, swapping Maiden’s Ed Force One 747, for the confines of life in a far less glamourous tour bus. Taking to the road with British Lion again on an extended twenty-seven date 2016 tour, we caught up with Steve on the final date in Belfast, to talk about the band, life on the road, and his famed ‘Hammers’ Fender Precision bass. With almost four decades spent fronting both Warlock and her own solo band, Doro is the undisputed metal queen. Making waves in the '80s with the celebrated metal act, Ms Pesch was the fist woman onstage at the Monsters of Rock Festival in the U.K., a fact she still finds hard to believe even today.
