AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd talks to us about such seminal works as ‘Back In Black’, ‘Highway To Hell’, and ‘Let There Be Rock’. Parting ways with AC/DC for the second time in 2015 after a well-publicised brush with the law, Phil also chats about his solo band. “I played next to Malcolm Young for close to forty years, mate - I know how a guitar’s supposed to go”, he reasons.
Paul Di'Anno talks about the health woes that left him confined to a wheelchair. Recorded in December 2019, he reveals that he may have been knocked down, but he's not out, but with the same gritty determination that has seen him through thus far, he's looking to the future and a return to live action. In the mean time, he has a new album; 'Hell over Waltrop - Live in Germany'. We sat down with the former Iron Maiden front man for a chat about the disc, his early days with Maiden, and reconnecting with Steve Harris. 202 and 2021 brought testing times for Steve Lukather. As well as legal troubles with Toto, the loss of dear friend Eddie Van Halen is something he’s still reeling from at the time of taping. “The world lost a guitar hero; I lost my friend”, he reveals, candidly. Despite this however, the guitarist and singer is in upbeat form, as attested on his radiant new solo release ‘I Found the Sun Again’. “I’ve had a wild ride, man. I can’t be mad at nothing”, he declares, in positively defiant form. Chatting the solo album, Toto’s final days and future, his friendship with EVH and more, we sat down for an extended audience with the one they call Luke. |
