Following the success of his critically acclaimed 2023 album Songs From The Blue Room, Luke Morley returns with his brand-new single, “Walking On Water,” released today - February 21, 2025. The track is the first glimpse into his forthcoming solo album of the same name, due later this year.

Morley is best known as the songwriter, lead guitarist, and producer of Thunder, the legendary British rock band whose career spans over 35 years with seven Top 10 albums and 18 Top 40 singles. Despite often being overlooked by mainstream media, Thunder’s most recent UK tour was their biggest yet—culminating in an emotional, sold-out show at Wembley Arena, proving their unwavering connection with a devoted fanbase.

However, it was Thunder’s indefinite hiatus—following frontman Danny Bowes’ recovery from a serious stroke in 2022—that prompted Morley to explore his solo artistry once again. Taking a leap of faith, he released Songs From The Blue Room in 2023, a record that resonated deeply with fans and critics.

The album achieved impressive chart success: #1 - Official Indie Breaker Albums Chart #2 - Official Record Store Chart #3 - Official Americana Albums Chart #5 - Official Independent Albums Chart and #11 - Official Physical Albums Chart.

Music press praised the album’s songwriting and genre-blending appeal. Classic Rock Magazine described it as “10 glittering gems” Rushonrock said  “When it comes to the craft of songwriting, few do it better.”  Meanwhile Fireworks said ““A strong, well-crafted and exceedingly impressive album”

Now, Morley is ready to release Walking On Water. The title track, “Walking On Water,” explores the arrogance of celebrity, imagining a scenario where Jesus returns—but not quite as expected.

“What if Jesus came back to earth but wasn’t like we thought he would be? What if he behaved like a lot of the vacuous celebrities we’re used to seeing on TV? What if he enjoyed the limelight and wanted the rest of us to know we were barely worthy of his time? What if he was more like Donald Trump, wore a silver suit and was a fan of Creedence Clearwater Revival? This song is all of the above.” Says Luke.

With Walking On Water, Luke Morley continues to expand his musical horizons while staying true to his exceptional songwriting craft. Stay tuned for more details on the full album release and tour announcement.
