Following uncertainty when previous owners TeamRock collapsed at the end of last year, Metal Hammer's Golden Gods Awards is set to return. Sponsored by Orange Amplification, the spectacular event, which is a highlight in the metal calendar, will take place on Monday 12th June at London's IndigO2.

Devin Townsend Project, Suicide Silence, Code Orange and many more have been added to the bill for this years' Download Festival. Taking place from 9 - 11 June at Donington Park, Leicestershire, the 2017 event is being headlined by System Of A Down, Biffy Clyro, and Aerosmith.  Guns 'N' Roses have conformed the full line-up for their appearance at Slane, Co. Meath this summer. Part of their mammoth 'Not In This Lifetime' world tour, the most dangerous band in the world will play their only Irish date at the celebrated site on 27th May.  Doom metal dramatists Ghost have been confirmed as the final headliners for this year's Bloodstock Open Air festival. The Swedish act join Amon Amarth And Megadeth in closing the three day event, which is taking place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from 10 - 13 August.  Brit Rock heroes Thunder returned to Belfast on Friday night (31st March) for a sold out show at the city's Mandela Hall.
